One of the main reasons I started scrapbooking way back in the day (1998 I believe was the year) was because I learned how important it is to store photos in an acid free environment so they don't turn yellow and disintegrate over time. That alone was reason enough to begin placing my precious memories in acid free albums.

Then there was the whole creative aspect to scrapbooking. I saw how amazing my friend's precious memories were displayed in her albums, and I couldn't wait to get started on my own first album.  As I mentioned above, that was over 10 years ago.

Today, I still look back at those first books I created and think about how far we've come since then. I am now married to a different man, and have two young grandsons.  Those first memory books mean more to my kids more than ever now, which is why it's so important to preserve your photographs in an acid free environment. If I hadn't done that back then, those photographs would now be starting to yellow and disintegrate and my children wouldn't be able to look back and recall the memories that were preserved in those books. Not to mention the story they will tell to my grandsons as they get older. 

As time goes by, there will be many more precious memories made and preserved through photography. I suppose you got influenced by your friends to start looking into this great way of spending your time creatively, right? Or probably you just want to start a new hobby that would make the most out of your time mesmerizing happy memories, in a more enjoyable, and creative way.

If you intend to start your scrapbooking activities, you do not have to be too much sophisticated when it comes to designing it. You can make it simple but personalized, that is more I like it. After you have listed your scrapbooking supplies in a piece of paper, you may go to bookstores on any scrapbooking stores within the area. If you cannot find a scrapbook store near you. You can go log in to the Internet and look for scrapbook store locations that are nearby, and you can go shop for your scrapbooking supplies from there.

Now, that you have your supplies, you can start layouting your scrapbook pages. If you are not that much familiar in doing this, you might as well be thinking what your options are? Well, the good thing about Internet connection is that you can access almost anything under the sun, even scrapbook templates that you can use for personalizing your scrapbook. You can also look into some of those interesting ideas that you can incorporate in your own scrapbook album.
