I guess we can all agree and say that journaling is an important part of scrapbooking, it is the last embellishment need to make your page stand out and come to life. Journaling is telling the story the (what ,when,  where, who and why ) behind the your photos. Remember that quote " a picture is worth a thousand words"  well today I will share with a few tips to help you find  those words and  give you  journaling styles that you can use to tell your story.

Lets Get You Started:

1. Choose acid-free, permanent, scrapbook pens in colors that coordinate with your scrapbook page.

2. Begin by adding a title to the page. You can keep it simple: it could just include the event and date.

3. Next, start with the basics, especially dates and names for children I add their ages.

4. Continue by adding some basic circumstantial information, such as who, what when, where, and why

5. Lastly, complete your journaling by adding some personal thoughts, emotions, poems, or quotes.

There are so many tools, you can use to journal on a scrapbook page, but just to name a few.

Computer for printing your thoughts, poems, and quotes.

Writing pens for hand writing your thoughts and feelings that tell the story.

Journaling stencils with this stencils you can add journaling any where on your pages.

Die cuts that coordinate with your pattern papers.

Jounraling Styles:

The Five Ws - (who,what, when, where, and why) this is the most common style of journaling used by many scrapers. this styles of journaling shares the points and details but really lacks emotion so if this is your style try to mix it up to make your album more memorable.

List Journaling - Use this style to add quick fun thoughts to your scrapbooking ,this journaling style works best on pages like" top ten I love yous" or "10 things I like about you"

Quotes & Poems - Some of the best words and thoughts for your scrapbooking could come from a poem or books of quotes. I have even found myself  journaling  song lyrics that can help me tell my story fun to add to my pages.

Thoughts & Feelings - Instead of journaling about the details of a photos, use this style of journaling  to tell what the people in the photos were feeling, or your own thoughts as you look at the photos.

Letter Writing - Start with "Dear" and end with "Love mom" and you have lettering writing  journaling styles it just that simple. Use this style to add little note to the children to read later as adults or write love notes and have them hidden in the scrapbook page.

Quick tips

• Keep a dairy after an event write it down in your dairy this make s it easy to remember also keeps your thoughts fresh when you are ready to journal.
• Take pictures you can  REALLY write things about, events that are that are memorable . I know at time we go picture crazy and just snap away and all it does is crowds our memory cards. So take meaningful photographs then when the time comes to scrapbook you can actually  have  thoughts, feelings, and an experiences  to share.

Final Thoughts

Now that you have your starting point, tools, and styles nothing can stop you from adding some personality to your scrapbook page.
