Scrapbooks Can Be More than Holiday Memories

For some people scrapbooks are artistic and fun activities used to remember important occasions like the holidays. However, like other art forms, it can actually be used to store not only a few holiday memories, but the life stories of you and your family. There is nothing like looking at your day-to-day activities in a scrapbook which your mother created when you were a child, or the candid family fun moments caught on camera and immortalized in scrapbooks. For new and old scrapbook artists alike, creating diaries or story books out of scrapbooks is a novel way of maximizing your scrapbooking skills.
Scrapbook diaries: When considering incorporating scrapbook layout techniques in your journals and diaries, make a habit of taking some time out each week to deal with the designs for your scrapbook. For some people it will be difficult to take on the task of designing a new page each week, so try setting a few hours out of the weekend to do advance work on your scrapbook diary. You can actually make children's story books using scrapbooking techniques, which makes the entire story much more interesting because you have visual evidences to make the tale seem more like reality. These can also be venues for more interactive story-telling between you and your child by asking questions about the elements you have put in the scrapbook.
Scrapbook notebooks: Are your children going to start school in a few days? Help beat the first-day blues by making your child's stay at school more fun with a scrapbook designed notebook. Help your child get boredom out of the way with notebooks made of high-quality papers and covered with the scrapbook items your child loves most. This is also a novel way of encouraging your child to take more notes in class and avoid wasting pages on doodles - after all, who wants to waste a beautifully crafted notebook with mindless doodles?
Other scrapbook projects: For the seasoned scrapbooking enthusiast, the techniques you learn in this craft are applicable in so many different ways, from personalized greeting cards to scrapbooked picture frames.
The same way painters can use various media within the house as canvass for their artworks, a scrapbook artist can also utilize his or her skills throughout the house. From your favorite self-compiled recipe books to the storage boxes used in your home office, there are many 'canvasses' a scrapbook artist can experiment on.
