If you’re looking for an affordable yet versatile way to embellish your layouts, consider creating a scrapbook with ribbon. I love using ribbon on my scrapbook pages. It is a fun and fancy way of adding a bit of texture to my pages. There are so many possibilities when using ribbon that I will just show you a few different things you can do.

On this next page, I placed the ribbon and fibers on the lines of the patterned paper to give it a bit of dimension.

Finally on this last example, I used some ribbon to make flowers.

Those are just a few examples of how I use ribbon. Yet there are many many more ways to use ribbon and fibers. What are some of your favorite ways to use ribbon?

Pattern Papers

First lets start with an image that you would normally color into different colors I have used my balloons stamp from Birthday stamp set by Fiskars. Stamp the image on the originally image on the card or page base or on a base piece of cardstock you want to use, then stamp the image two or three more time on different pattern papers. Next, cut the image from each pattern paper and begin by adhering it to your base image.

Black ink
Martha Stewart's Sun Room Pattern paper
Fiskar Birthday Stamp set
Micro scissors

I hope you have enjoy this little tip and technique, if you have already tried paper piecing and have some design to share we would love to see them.

Supplies: Double Sided Patterned Paper or Cardstock measuring at least 6" x 12", 3 brads, paper piercer, strong adhesive and a trimmer.

1. Cut your 7"x 12" cardstock into  (8) 1"x6" strips, next cut (4) 1'' x5'' strips, then cut (1) strip 1''x4'' all together you should have 13 strips.

2. Add adhesive to the end of each strip A sided facing up (this is the side of the paper you want to be your design) then  wrap the (8) 1' x6" and (4) 1''x 5" strips as shown in the picture below.

3.Wrap the (1) 1"x4" strips as shown in the picture below.

4. Next, using your paper piercer punch a hole in  the wrapped strips then using a brad attach the petal together it should like this.

5. Now we are ready to assemble the pieces, place a glue dot in the center of each layer then stack each layer make sure you alternate the layer as you go.

Now you have a finished bow, that will add a a personalized touch to you gift giving this year.

Scrappers this is another non traditional Christmas collection but there is a few traditional pages in it too which make this a very versatile and simply adorable I love it! I was immediately drawn to all the  snowmen, snow capped trees and the fun colored papers. To sum it up this collection is a fun Christmas Winter land,  and I would definitely recommend it!
