We all have our favorite color combinations: from blue and yellow to brown and pink to red and tan. Creating a themed scrapbook based on your favorite colors can be fun and very attractive.

Of course there are a variety of patterns, styles and textures to choose from using your favorite colors, so I will give you some suggestions that will help get your creative wheels spinning.

Two color combinations

If you like polka dots, use two contrasting colors to create a cute layout. On one side, use the darker color for the background and the lighter color to create polka dots by cutting out small circles. You can use one size for the polka dots or you can create a whole different look by using different sized dots.

Using the same colors you can then create pages of stripes, squares, triangles and circles, or other patterns throughout your album. You can also trim the border of photos using paper that is the same color as your dots or other shapes.

Using colors significant during certain Holidays also makes for a unique album. You can create a red and green Christmas album, a pastel yellow and green Easter album, or a brown and orange Thanksgiving album. Each of these albums could hold a variety of photo memories throughout the years, or you can focus the album on just one special Holiday.

A great wedding gift would be to create an album for the bride and groom using the two main colors from their wedding. Fill the album with blank pages of different patterns in the two colors for the couple to fill with their own photos, or you could use photos from when they were dating and engaged. Either way, this is a great gift the couple will cherish for years to come.

Ideas using three colors

Using three colors, you can create a red, white and blue album of your favorite summer activities or a black, orange and purple album filled with your favorite Halloween memories. The ideas are endless.

No matter what colors are your favorite, there are plenty of papers, layouts, embellishments, and designs available for you to create numerous albums with.
