Whimsy Wednesday Chipboard Coaster Calendar

by April ~ January 6th, 2010. Filed under: How To, Inspiration.

Well...it's that time of week again and I was having a rough day. I broke my right wrist and finding projects that I can do easily has been a difficult thing! But....I did find something. This project is sooo nice and easy to do. If I can do it with a cast on....anyone can do it!

The products I used were:

Prima Flowers

Kaisercraft DP

Mod Podge

chipboard coasters

Tim Holtz clip

7 Gypsies rings

Basic Grey half pearls

Martha Stewart craft knife

Random Ribbon

Calendar template which can be found at About.com <------- http://rubberstamping.about.com/od/2010calendartemplates/ig/2010-ATC-Calendar-Template/

This really was a simple project. I put mod podge on my coasters and layered my DP over it and let it dry. Cut out the pieces with my Martha Stewart craft knife...flipped the coasters over and did the other sides.

I downloaded and cut the calendar, used a hole punch and put two little brads through to hold them together and make for easy removal of the month. I put two holes in the top for the rings...and I used my hole punch for those too..the chipboard is fairly thin.

I then just used some cardstock to make some layers, attached it to the coaster and added prima flowers. The other side is for post-it-notes. I just took a glue dot and adhered the Tim Holtz clip to it and there you have it.

What do you think? Do you think you might want to try this quick and easy project? I think the best part is embellishing it. There are so many options and different ways to make this and honestly...it didn't take that much time to do.

What a great gift this would make also....I think when my cast is off I am going to make a few more to give away. I should have done this for Christmas gifts...great little office desktop calendar.

So I'd love to hear what you think? Also....let me know how you'd do it differently...I love suggestions.
